Aiming to raise awareness and understanding of the legal and regulatory issues related to blockchain, several legal professionals, legal service providers, academics, technologists, and business executives have come together to form the Blockchain + Legal Industry Group, and today the group is releasing the first in a planned series of white papers produced to share the group’s knowledge and insights, LawSites reported.

The group first came together a year ago, spearheaded by the global technology-enabled legal services company Epiq.  “When a new technology presents itself, we work with corporate legal departments to help them be sure that when the technology gets implemented, they do it in a way that meets their legal requirements, whether it’s discovery, preservation or information governance”, said Epiq’s President and General Manager, Global Legal Solutions, Roger Pilc.
