Emily Small is Director, Advanced Technologies, Managed Services at Epiq. Emily partners with clients to leverage advanced technology, institutional knowledge, and substantive case insight in creative workflows that result in efficient, cost-effective, defensible, and high-quality work products. She also collaborates with clients to develop and implement bespoke trainings and documentation on analytics tools, processes, and best practices. Ms. Small is an active speaker and panel expert at various national conferences and Webinar events and has presented CLE’s for numerous clients and organizations.
Ms. Small holds eDiscovery experience in matters involving energy, environmental liability, government investigations, intellectual property, products liability, financial services, antitrust, pharmaceuticals, government investigations, securities, tax law, and white-collar crime.
Previous Professional Experience
Ms. Small initially joined Epiq as a Case Manager, where she developed and managed eDiscovery enterprise programs for global corporate clients. Before coming to Epiq, Emily was an Analytics Review Manager for a global managed review service provider, and managed document reviews with a focus on analytics-driven solutions. Prior to her roles at eDiscovery vendors, Ms. Small was a member of the eDiscovery Analytics and Production Team in Google’s Legal Department, where she developed and implemented advanced analytics workflows and trainings.
Education/Speaking Expertise
Ms. Small holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She is a licensed attorney in Massachusetts, a Relativity Certified User, and a NexLP Expert
