Takayuki Masuda has more than 10 years of experience in the field of information governance and eDiscovery. As a member of Epiq's Information Governance International team, he consults on compliance and data security initiatives primarily around Microsoft 365 for a variety of industries, including law firms and finance, healthcare, and manufacturing clients in Japan and other APAC countries.

Previous Professional Experience

Mr. Masuda has held senior roles in a wide range of areas, including project management, document review management, and forensic collection, in emergency responses such as U.S. litigation and internal fraud investigations. He has also led defensible deletion and migration engagements for complex enterprise organizations.

In information governance practices, Mr. Masuda has played an indispensable role in building and optimizing document retention management and information leakage prevention management within the company as a bridge between IT, legal, general affairs, and business departments. He has extensive experience helping clients implement Microsoft 365 Purview for their unstructured data in MS Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

Mr. Masuda holds a Juris Doctorate from Sophia University Law School in Tokyo and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Yokohama National University. 

He has served as a frequent speaker on the topics of Microsoft modern technologies, compliance and data security.

He is fluent in Japanese and English, both verbal and written. Masuda is a Microsoft Information Protection Administrator, OneTrust Privacy Professional and Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) holder.
