ATLANTA – Oct. 1, 2018 — Epiq, a global leader in the legal services industry, today announced that nationally recognized claims administration expert Michael O’Connor, vice president of client services at Epiq, will present a session entitled “Class Action Settlement Administration 101: Utilizing Administrators to Get Claimants Paid and Secure Final Approval of Your Settlement,” at the Mass Torts Made Perfect conference. The session will be held at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 5:15 p.m. PDT.
“This year, Mass Torts Made Perfect is expanding its focus to deliver a comprehensive program about class actions, and it’s exciting to be on the faculty,” said O’Connor. “While there are many similarities between class actions and mass torts, the roles of administrators vary widely—and if you have never hired an administrator in a class action, you may not really know what we do. I speak frequently about administrative best practices in both the mass tort and class action fields and hope that our experience will be useful to this esteemed group of practitioners.”
In this session, attendees will learn:
- Differences in the roles played by administrators in class actions and mass torts
- The unique role of notice in class actions
- Tips for securing final approval of your settlement
Mass Torts Made Perfect was founded in 2000 by the law firm of Levin Papantonio, and currently is led by the firm’s named partners Fred Levin, Mike Papantonio, and Mark Proctor, in addition to Keith Givens with The National Trial Lawyers. The event was created to convene attorneys involved in the practice of mass torts litigation to share ideas and resources.
